THE REAL CRISIS IN CONSTRUCTION

THE ENSURING INTEGRITY SHAM

Scott Morrison wants to put a knife through the heart of Australian Unions, and our hard-won rights. The Liberal’s ‘Ensuring Integrity Bill’ will attempt to silence our leaders, lower safety standards and put a clamp on your rights and your wages. It does nothing to fix the real crisis in construction in Australia. The only thing it ensures is fatter profits for property developers, lower wages and worse safety.

The real crisis in construction goes ignored

Meanwhile, cost blowouts and delays have wasted taxpayer dollars to the tune of $10.8 billion over the past ten years and may cost an additional $5.0 billion over the coming three years. Australia’s apartment building and construction crisis will cost $6.2 billion to fix. All down to sloppy regulation and outsourcing. See our reports and the media we got on the real crisis in construction here.

The Federal government’s only answer is to silence whistle-blowers and put even more power in the hands of major construction companies through the ‘Ensuring Integrity’ Legislation.

The time to act is now

The fate of the laws will be determined by the Senate crossbench, and they’re likely to vote on the bill during its November sittings.

It comes down to three Senators. Jacqui Lambie has said that she will support the bill unless we change leaders and the two SA Centre Alliance Senators, Rex Patrick and Stirling Griff are critical. We need you to make your voice heard so these Senators make the right call.

Don’t let the government’s gag go through

The Liberal’s ‘Ensuring Integrity’ bill attempts to silence union leaders and does nothing to fix the real crisis in construction in Australia: shoddy projects; cost blow-outs amounting to billions; failing safety standards and a government which just doesn’t care. The only thing it ensures is fatter profits for property developers, lower wages and worse safety. Let’s get to work to fix the real crisis in construction and protect the whistleblowers who keep us safe.

I’ve made my voice heard, will you?
